Sally Carter

“I grew up on a small Illinois farm, surrounded by dogs of all sizes and breeds.  I knew I wanted to work with dogs, so I became a certified dog groomer and worked as a groomer for 18 years.  But my interest in dogs ran deeper that keeping them looking their best.  I began training my six dogs and entering them in agility and obedience trials through the Scott County Kennel Club.  It became obvious that to achieve peak performance, I needed to learn more about their health and nutrition.  I talked with veterinarians, read many books and articles.  Eventually, along with other aspects of good canine health, I learned about the benefits of warm water therapy.  That led us to open this business.  I earned a certification at the Canine Fitness Institute.”

“I grew up in rural Clinton County, Iowa.  We always had pet dogs, and I loved taking care of them.  Even though I was an elementary teacher in the Quad Cities, I always wanted to do more work with animals.  I earned a veterinary assistant degree at Blackhawk College and worked summers for a veterinarian.  We have owned many dogs – including one who developed lymphoma, which gave me great insights into the needs of ill dogs.  Acquiring a St. Bernard led me to the Scott County Kennel Club, where obedience training helped me control a dog that outweighs me.  We own, train and care for three dogs – two of which we rescued.”
